O MEDO TÁ FODA is an animated short film released in 2024, written and directed by Esaú Pereira. I was invited to work on the project to handle all visual development, including to create the characters' design, background art, scene setups, and illustrations for promotional content. Synopsis: On a hot day, Revo steals a popsicle from a gas station without imagining the trouble it would cause him. Throught surreal environments on this journey of escape, the protagonist meets people with different perspectives, but essential to overcoming his fear.
SCRIPT:
Across the street, Revo, 26, 5'8" tall, wears a closed polyester balaclava, a fabric that slightly marks his mouth, ears, and eyes.
On impulse, he picks up his sandals from the sand and walks with long strides down the road, his puffer jacket moving in a random axis due to the air stored in the compartments of the
clothing, a small cooler with a cross-body strap swinging at his left side.
SCRIPT:
Biri, 58 years old, 5'6" tall, wears a striped tank top and
adjusts his hat with his cyborg arm. Biri rides a
red Monark bicycle, which has an amplifier on the front that plays
INSTRUMENTAL REGGAE.
SCRIPT:
Daisy, 42 years old, 5'11" tall, points a rifle at Revo.
As he laughs, Revo analyzes her features: tangled hair, thin mustache, wearing an overcoat that covers her entire body and gloves.
SCRIPT:
Still trembling, Revo loosens the fingers of his left hand and slowly intertwines them with those of the person next to him. He looks to the side, only able to see the shoulder pressed against his and part of the neck covered with yellow, transparent plastic. The face of Fran, 26 years old, 5'6" tall, with a smile, begins to emerge from the fog, moving towards Revo.
REVO'S POV
Revo, through the balaclava, sees a young woman with very short hair and
eyebrows with a few strands pointing upwards.

SCRIPT:
Revo runs down the road, holding the box to his chest. The
sun begins to rise in the middle of the desert. Coming toward him is Luna, 10 years old, 1 meter tall, wearing the same clothes as Revo but in different colors, her long hair sticking out from under her balaclava.
They embrace each other.

O Medo Tá Foda takes place in a post-apocalyptic desert amid ruins, abandoned parks, and a psychedelic atmosphere.
